A marriage held together with plastic

"We’re trying not to be indifferent about the world". Beach combing is this couple's mindfulness practice, and the way they stay connected to each other.

When I shared this video with my dear friend Reverend Anne Bolles-Beaven, Episcopal Priest, funny story teller and pumpkin pie baker, this is what she wrote:

Hear my prayer:

O God to let myself be captured

like a beautiful odd shaped piece of plastic

on this most holy homely beach

to trust myself to the primal elements

of play and laughter and unknowing

to live the ongoing discovery that what we thought

trash

indifferent of no account

are toys of unexpected treasure

Love is…. to be captured. Thanks Rev. Anne!
